Delete your account

You can delete everything Dinner Cents stores about you. How depends on whether you added an email address to your account.

If you never added an email

Your plan, store, pantry and preferences are only on your phone, and your account is an anonymous one with no name or email. Deleting the app removes all of it from your phone, including the random identifier and the sign-in session.

On your iPhone's Home Screen, touch and hold the Dinner Cents icon.
Tap Remove App, then Delete App, and confirm.

After that, nothing we hold is linked to you. The anonymous account and the usage records left on our providers' systems can't be connected to your name or contact details.

If you added an email

The app doesn't have a delete button yet, so deletion is by email. Send the request from the email address on your Dinner Cents account:

Email waadrarii@gmail.com with the subject Dinner Cents account deletion request.
If you write from a different address, include the email on your account. We'll reply to that address to confirm it's yours before deleting anything.
We'll email you when the deletion is done.

Email a deletion request

Sending the email doesn't delete the account automatically; a person handles each request. Don't send passwords, sign-in codes or payment details. Then delete the app from your phone, as above, to clear what's stored there.

What gets deleted

Your Dinner Cents account and the email address on it
Everything the app stored on your phone, once you delete the app: your week, pantry, plan settings, chosen store, sign-in session and the random app identifier

What may be kept

Usage analytics, crash reports and subscription records are tied to the random app identifier, not to your email, so we can't find them from an email address. Once the app is deleted, they aren't linked to you.
Apple keeps its own record of your purchases and subscription, under Apple's privacy policy.
Routine logs kept by our providers expire on their own schedules.
Your deletion request email, for as long as needed to show we handled it.

Cancel your subscription separately

Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription. Apple bills it, so cancel it with Apple: on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Dinner Cents. Cancel at least 24 hours before the next renewal to avoid another charge.

How to cancel a subscription from Apple
